Some Fun

These are some really cool people...I used to do this in high school. The fact that these people had the audacity to do this at their wedding, ranks them really high on my cool list.

Trans Fats and Fertility

In September I had declared I was laying off the donuts because I needed to lose some weight. Actually I needed to lose around 25 pounds back then as I started to embark on a fitness and nutritional adventure.

But fate had decided otherwise and derailed me twice. Since then, I've put on some more weight so now I have to lose 34 pounds.

Being overweight is never good when you are trying to get pregnant, so I've decided to go back to my nutritional lifestyle and started exercising again. Once more I'm laying off the donuts, but this time not only because of weight issues - there are fertility issues to consider as well.

A recent study has found that a donut a day can increase your infertility by 70%! I wonder if Krispy Kreme, Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts are aware of this. Then again, all it takes is for two percent of your fat intake to come from trans fats.

Food of the future

The day this comes to my local supermarket is the day we start buying organic no matter the cost. Either that or we go vegetarian. I'm already thinking of growing my own vegetables and fruits anyway.

I'm Back - sort of

Happy 2007! It is in January 2007 that this humble blog has turned one year old, and what a strange trip it's been.

I don't blog much about the island, usually leave that to El Loco, but this just takes the cake. While other people bark at Tancredo or try to highlight the crime rate in Miami in Puerto Rico there have been 41 murders in 12 days. Yup you read right - 41, that's almost 4 a day.

So violent has been the start of the year, that the current governor is comtemplating a strategy of past governors - activate the National Guard.
