Short Term Memory

Update (11/2): Guess not everyone thinks this is a good idea. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and what ripples if any it causes.

It surprises me that NY of all cities has decided to give illegal immigrants a driver's liscense. Will these illegals be submitted to a background check? Have we forgotten that one of the things that helped out the 9/11 terrorists was the fact that they had valid state liscenses?

I would like to know what measures the governor of NY will have in place to make sure he is not aiding future terrorists. Who's to say the passports they bring in are valid or legal for that matter? Will they be subjected to verification?

In a country with no national identification a liscense opens many doors - travel within the nation, rent cars, open bank accounts (provided they have an SS to go along). I'm sorry but without specific measures to prevent the wrong people getting a liscense, this is just not a good idea.

I Have a Baby!!!!

No I'm not pregnant. But you see this beautiful girl to the left? That is Gabriela Maria Lugo Ramos and she is my Goddaughter!!

I'm a madrina! I still can't believe it myself. This is the first true bond I will have with a child; a lifelong bond. Many Easters ahead - you know Easter is el dia de los ahijados. Many birthdays, many Christmases and Reyes and of course many santos!!!!

I will be part responsible for the life of this little one, of her rearing, of her values, of her morals, of her religion. Godforbid anything happens to her parents, this little angel is my responsibilities in the eyes of God.

I swear, this is the most responsibility I've had since I agreed to get married.

I'm so excited!!! I cannot wait for the christening!!!!
