Today's Must Read

Argentinean Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel lambasted the US on its "blockade" to Cuba, supported the five convicted Cuban spies imprisoned in the US, and of course started talking about Human Rights and the US Guantanamo Base - even writing a letter to President George W. Bush.

Well, if he thought he would say all that, and not get a response, he was dead wrong. From Off Topic comes this post as a commentary to this letter. The letter, addressed to Esquivel, was written by Oscar Espinosa Chepe, a Cuban economist and independent journalist who was among the jailed in March 2003. He was freed in November 2004. While you may not agree with some of his views regarding the "embargo" I urge you to read both the post and the letter.

Someone had to set Mr. Esquivel right, and show him for the hypocrite that he is - and that is exactly what Oscar Espinosa Chepe just did.
